I'm so glad you stopped by, let me tell you a little about myself..
I'm Melissa Kyle, and I am a youth pastor, wife, and mom to my awesome daughter Ember. I grew up in the wheat fields of Kansas, but my heart is in the Mountains. I love Colorado!
I always joke about how I was born in the wrong state, but seriously, I was. ;)
I absolutely love the outdoors, hiking, camping, kayaking, snowboarding, you name it, and now that I have my little mini-me, it makes being outside and doing life so much more fun. She is always on the go (like her momma) and it's a blast being able to see her explore the world around her. She goes with me everywhere, and smiles at everyone she sees.
I also love coffee, it's pretty much my lifeline! I would be a wreck without it. Oh, and I hate spiders and bees, wasps, hornets, pretty much anything that can sting you. Seriously, I run like heck and wave my arms in the air. It's very entertaining for those watching me, but for me, my life flashes before my eyes every time. Hmmmm... what else, Oh, I love S'mores, and campfires (hence why I liked the name Ember), and I'm a master a S'more making, yes there is a certain way to get the mallow just the right kind of burnt, and the chocolate melted just right. If you are ever around me at a campfire, i'll show ya how it's done :)
My Call into Youth Ministry: God called me into youth ministry when I was a Sr in High school and I have been following the call ever since. I went to Friends University where I majored in Religion/Philosophy emphasis on Youth Ministry.
Nothing is as exciting to me as showing Students who Christ, and how he has worked in my life. I am a sinner, and will be the first to admit that I don't have my life together and I mess up.. A LOT, but God's grace ,love, and forgiveness is what I LOVE sharing and showing people. God's gift of Salvation is for everyone, and it excites me when I get to share God with others!
My Passion as a Photographer: Photography is another big passion of mine. I have always loved taking pictures because I wanted to remember moments that meant something to me, I didn't want to forget them. I love looking back at pictures and remembering!
It wasn't until a few years ago, that I really took an interest and wanted to know more about Photography. So I started reading blogs, and photography magazines, and web sites, and then putting what I read into practice.
I love capturing those awesome moments that we never want to forget. And everyday I learn something new about photography! I love it, and the challenges it brings, as well as the creativity that I get to experience.
