First camping adventure of the season is in the books!

This past weekend was gorgeous, so when my husband asked if I wanted to go camping, I jumped at the opportunity. If you know me at all, you know that I love to go camping. Being outside, sleeping in a tent, and falling asleep to the sounds of frogs, is an experience that you just don't get in the city. I mean, I guess I could still sleep outside in a tent in my front or backyard, but you know what I mean, it's just not the same.
There is something rejuvenating about being in nature, and so this weekend, we decided to rejuvenate. Some of Ben's family joined us for burgers and hot dogs, and others stayed the night with us in our tent. It was a great time of fun and laughter, which is ALWAYS a good thing.

Ember, my outdoor adventure girl, LOVES being outside, and loves to camp (like mother, like daughter). The outdoors is her playground, and she loves every minute of it, she tried her hardest to keep her little eyes open at the end of the day while we were all around the campfire, but just couldn't, and she fell right to sleep. ( cue the Mommy happy dance).
I love raising her up in nature every moment we get, whether it's going on walks, going to the park, playing in the yard, or going camping. It's in those times where I get to see her creativity unfold. I get to see where her mind and little legs take her, and I get to be along for the ride.

It was a great relaxing weekend and so far this Monday has been pretty "ok".
Now, for some yoga to finish this day out .. bring on Tuesday!

A place I call home

So, it's been awhile. Life has been busy with being a full time middle school youth director, and a full time wife, and mom and for some reason, posting on my blog has taken a back burner the last few months, however that all is about to change.
I know that I am SUPER late at getting these pictures up for you all to see (seeing as how this trip was back in Sept 2017), but better late than never! Ember looks so much more grown up now, but I sure do love looking back at these pictures and seeing how small she used to be. She was just staring to crawl when we took this trip to CO, and now she is walking (almost running) everywhere.
Last Sept for Labor Day, we decided to take a quick weekend trip as a family out to one of our favorite spots in CO. It was jam packed with hikes, and we loved every minute of it.
I am always looking to learn and practice photography.  I don't do much of landscape photography, and so I found this trip to be a great time to put some of those learning tools into practice, and what better place to practice that, than in CO. The mountains are breathtaking, and the scenery is surreal, (now if I can only somehow get you to smell the pine through these pictures)
So I invite you, scroll down, and take a look at the amazing place that is home to my soul.  I will say that pictures don't do the actual live visual justice (as much as I have tried to make it real as though you are there). You just have to see it for yourself. So if you have a chance to go to the mountains... take it, and GO!
