Melissa & Ben's Vacation to KC

Well our vacation is over :( For the past 4 days we have enjoyed roaming the streets of KC and being with Family. I love Vacations, because it gives you a chance to get away from your normal everyday routine and just have fun!!

For those of you who follow me on Twitter or Instagram or Facebook you saw some pictures that I had posted while we were in KC. We had such a blast!
We stayed with Ben's parents (FREE room and food :)

We went up Friday morning, and on our way up, we made a pit stop to Lawrence. There is a candle shop there that I LOVE because it has my favorite candle (the Cedar smelling candle) so of course we stopped by there so I could purchase one :) We also ate at a delicious Pizza place!

As soon as we got into Bonner Springs, we decided to go to a Marble store that we had been wanting to go into for awhile. So we went in, and filled a square bottle with as many Marbles that we could possibly fit in there :)

This little guy, had his mouth open and you could stick your hand in there and get Marbles. Either that or Ben is getting his hand eaten haha.
Saturday we woke up, and went to go see "REAL PIRATES" at Union Station. We had a blast touching Pirate Booty ;) and just reading about how it was in the life of a Pirate.

After the Pirate experience, we decided to roam around Union Station and see all that we could.

We found our way to a Train place, where there was an incredible amount of toy train tracks. It was actually really impressive.

This train track was made out of Lego's.

After the toy trains, we stepped outside to see actual trains driving by. So we decided to take a gander. :)

I had to take advantage of this photo opportunity with Ben while we were on the bridge  :)
Of course while we were on the bridge looking at trains, the delicious smell of BBQ wafted it's way into my nose, and being a "Fager" by blood, I am always in the mood to eat, AND it was around lunch time (so my tummy was telling me)
So we all agreed to go to "Jack Stack" one of the best BBQ places in KC

While we were eating, it started to rain. It wasn't bad, just a little shower :) So on our way back over the bridge I was able to catch a water drop hanging off of the cable.

The rest of the day, we just explored Downtown KC. It was so fun just spending time with Ben's Parents. They are awesome!!!

We decided to take a picture by this door, since it said to "take a picture"

This was a Praying Mantis that I saw on the outside of a window, I had never seen one this big, so I figured it was a photo opportunity.

If you look at the bottom right of this picture, you can see how much it used to cost back in the day to rent a room... boy how times have changed haha.

The New Opera Theatre

Later that night, Ben and I had our date night. We went walking around the Plaza, but after about 15 min of walking, we both were just exhausted from a long day of walking and roaming around, so we decided to get some ice cream, and then just sit and people watch :)

Had to get in some cuddle time with my little best friend Yahzi :)

Sunday, we woke up, and went to Central Nazarene Church for Church. We came back home, changed, and then hung out at the house for a while.

Sunday night we decided to go Mini-Golfing :) It was great weather for it. Despite this picture, Ben was actually excited to go mini-golfing haha. You should see the way we play mini-golf, it's not your average game of how you play mini-golf :)

Monday we slept in, and then decided to go explore some more. We found a abandoned train track which was super awesome, the only bad thing, was that I'm afraid of heights haha and this train track was quite some ways up from the ground. haha

While on the train track bridge, Ben found this egg. It was ginormous!! Probably a Dino egg haha ;)

Later we went to the WW1 memorial which overlooked Downtown KC. It's always an incredible view.

Overlooking Downtown KC & Union Station

My drink of choice for the afternoon. Pretty Delicious! If you have never tried it, you need to go to your local Gas station and purchase yourself one :)

Sadly the day had to come, where we had to pack up our things and head back home :(  We got up at 6:00am and left at 6:30am (for those of you who don't know us, we are NOT morning ppl, especially my husband haha) We went to bed early the night before so thankfully waking up at 6am wasn't to bad. On our way home, we had a gorgeous Sunrise :) It was incredible!

This was our sad face that our Vacation was over :(  Until Next summer !!!!
MB Vacation.. over and out!
