I am so blessed to serve alongside some pretty incredible people!
These past few days, the Pastoral staff & spouses went to Colorado for a conference/retreat for the Covenant denomination. Unfortunately not every spouse could go because of obligations here at home, and sadly Ben (my hubby) was one who couldn't join us.
We left a day early so we could wake up Monday morning and do some hiking & shopping before the first session that evening.
We woke up, had an amazing breakfast made by Wes & Doug, and then it was off to Bear Lake to do some easy hiking and to capture some incredible views!
On our way to bear lake, as we were driving, we saw a herd of Elk. Stephen and I were trying to get as close as possible, and so of course I let Stephen go first :) I was also able to capture some pretty incredible shots of this male Elk which I was excited about. We also were able to Celebrate Pastor Doug's birthday that was Monday as well! So that was a lot of fun for us!
Tuesday, we had our morning session, and then had the afternoon to hang out and do whatever we wanted until the evening session. Once again we went hiking, but this time it was a little more intense than Bear lake the day before. We went up to Mills Lake & the view once we were up there was just gorgeous! Our total round trip was 4.5 hours I believe(once we got to our destination we wanted to sit relax and just take all of God's creation in). Doug was smart and brought a water purifier, so we were able to get some very cold mountain stream water to drink!
Tuesday night we had our session, and then finished watching the Royals game! After then it was a early night for me because Stephen and I had to leave by 7am so we could drive and make it back for Youth Group Wednesday night!
It was an incredible trip, and these pictures don't capture nearly the incredible beauty of God's creation like the real thing.
We were encouraged as we were rejuvenated by the Holy Spirit through the speaker and the worship, as well as God's creation on our retreat.
Here is a little glimpse into what we saw on our retreat!
